Leila has started to name animals by their name and not their sound. So she has cat, dog, fish, horse etc rather than meow, woof, gubbie and neigh.Leila knows all her letters in the alphabet. She can name them and point them out in a crowd of letters. She is fastest at Z, A, K and S; but the letters L, U, and J are still the sound and not the name "lllll and uup and jump'. She also shows interest in writing and we are working on M, N, and O since they are basic zig zags and a circle. She is definite beginner but she thinks it's fun, so I'm just encouraging.
Leila knows lots of body parts and colors red, blue, green, purple,black, white and pink (sometimes said pink-toe) . She also can take off her shorts, diaper, shirt and shoes.
Verbally she is saying 'thank you', 'excuse me' and 'please'. She still calls Brey, Brey and not dad, but every now and again it is Brey-Dad, which is a step in the right direction!
Songs that she loves are 'twinkle twinkle' and she'll say words if you leave them out like 'twinkle _______ little _____ how i ______ what you _____' but she doesn't sing with me. The ABC song is coming along she knows ABC, LMNO,UVWXYZ. She likes 'Mr Sun' and also 'head shoulders knees and toes' the best.
She is also learning emotions and the faces that go with it. She does happy, sad, mad, surprise and sleepy.
