1,770 and 33 hours

yep! That is how many miles!
We left Utah at 9pm on Monday night. We (Brey) drove the night and the next day we stopped driving in Kansas City, KS at 6pm. We got up and out of the hotel at 7am and arrived just before 730 pm here in Grove City, Ohio at 1,770 miles. So roughly 33 hours of traveling and probably 30 hours of driving.
Driving at night was awesome! I loved to see ALL the stars through out Wyoming and Nebraska. We got lost trying to find our hotel and got stuck in some hefty traffic in Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, KS. That was probably an hour of the time. We had a good stay at the hotel and we were asleep before 8pm! Driving today was peaceful and I was very anxious to get to see my parents.
Leila did AWESOME! She slept the whole night drive- and then we had breakfast where she got to run around. She was frustrated when we were stuck in traffic and. . .well. . .we were all tired of being in the car. At the hotel she was jumping around and chasing our cats. She fell to sleep right after dinner and slept until 5am. She did great today with the rest of the drive- even taking a 3 hour nap!
Our cats did better than expected. Ember started off in the cat crate but that only lasted until Laramie, Wyoming- then she fell right to sleep on a blanket next to Mr. T. Eventually Ember found out she really liked being under the passenger front seat. No cat vomited or used the bathroom in our car. They just left some fur behind but a vacuum and sticky rollers will take care of that!
How did we survive?We listened to the first 2 Harry Potter books. We have a garmin gps- that even told us the current speed limit - which helped when passing through smaller and then larger cities and it showed us the turns in the road which I loved having when going through Wyoming in the pitch black. For Leila I packed zip lock bags of toys for Leila that had a book and a toy and activity in each and we also had a good selection of DVDs.
So, now we are just job searching- please try and ask your friends / co workers/ neighbors if they know anyone who needs a 'Commercial Journeyman Plumber'.Thanks!
