New Ward

We went to the Elders Quorum activity and it was so much fun. The Escue family hosted it and they have a large yard. It was fun to have nice weather and good company. Brey and I met lots of people. We even have friends that are from Venezuela (so my quota is met since we don't live near Susi) and we have a married couple who will have us over for dinner when Brey gets back and they are Dave & Meghan (which are the names of friends we had in Utah) The Escues also had a very old slide from a public school and the slide was 8 feet tall! It was so funny to see 4-5 kids lined up on the ladder waiting for the kid at top to get the courage to slide down. Leila took no time at all to get really good at it.
The only down side was that we had a BIG rain and thunderstorm the night before so it was muddy and slippery. Leila slipped and I was so glad I had packed her extra clothes- even though it was her pajamas. But with her shoes off and pajama pants she could whisk right on down that tall/tall slide.
Leila got to ride the tractor or to her the 'train' at the activity. She just kept saying 'choo choo'. She loved it.

Roger Escue is a tree trimmer so he made a large bon-fire from some of the clippings. We used a smaller fire to cook hot dogs and s'mores.

The ward has been very welcoming. The ward is having a memorial day breakfast and afterwards there will be a mecca to my parents house so that the Elders Quorum can help unload our things. There are lots of young families because many people are in dental / law school at OSU and we are in the outskirts of Columbus. Things are going good.
